The Department of Psychology at Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2025.

We seek candidates who will contribute to both our scientifically oriented undergraduate program and to the Industrial Organizational track of our online Master of Science in Psychology program ( https://www.aum.edu/degree/io-psychology/ ). Successful candidates will collaborate with our two current faculty members in Industrial Organizational Psychology to further expand and enhance the online Master’s track in this field. Now in our third year with the active graduate program, we seek colleagues who are passionate about creating innovative educational experiences and developing opportunities that continue to enrich student learning and support their success.

Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology. Applicants with doctorates in Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, or another related discipline may be considered, but in these cases must also have a Master’s degree in Psychology. Excellence in teaching and mentoring is required. Applicants who employ innovative, evidence-based teaching practices are preferred. Successful candidates should be able to teach pre-existing master’s level courses and develop courses related to their area of expertise. Successful candidates will also be expected to teach undergraduate-level psychology courses in their areas of expertise, develop and maintain an active research program that allows for student involvement, and provide service to the department, college, and university.

The Department of Psychology includes 11 tenure-track faculty and offers an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master’s of Science in Psychology graduate degree with the Industrial Organizational Psychology track. Located in the state capital, Auburn University at Montgomery enrolls approximately 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The area also offers vibrant cultural and recreational attractions including the renowned Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Double-A baseball, and world-class museums and memorials commemorating Montgomery’s rich civil rights legacy. The campus is located only a few hours away from Atlanta, Georgia, and Birmingham, Alabama.
