Description

The Student Front Desk Worker (Student Worker) reports to the Department of Human Services Social Work program, to Carolyn Corson, Student Worker Supervisor, and to Dr. Ryan Peterson, Department Chair. The Student Worker will manage the front desk, monitor access to the Social Work student computer lab, perform office tasks as requested, such as copying, shredding, monitor printer and printing supplies, lock and unlock doors, assist instructors, and other tasks as necessary.

Examples of Duties

Manage the front desk, greet faculty, students, and visitors; monitor access to the Social Work student computer lab; print, copy, scan, and shred documents; monitor the printer to be fully stocked with paper and other supplies; lock and unlock doors when needed; assist instructors with designing and preparing pamphlets, event programs, notices, and other types of documents; change displays in hallway display cases; monitor individual student test-taking; and other duties as necessary.

Typical Qualifications

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
  • Experience is preferred but not required in the use of Microsoft office programs, in customer service, and by having held a previous job of any type or duration in which the applicant adhered reliability and promptly to work schedules.
