Purpose of Position
Northern Kentucky University welcomes applicants for the position of Director, Office of Financial Assistance. The Director will provide leadership to the Office of Student Financial Assistance and One Stop Center to ensure exceptional service is provided to students, parents, faculty, staff and the university community.
This role is responsible for daily managerial leadership to the Office of Student Financial Assistance and One Stop Center ensuring staff, programs, practices and policies support student success and the university’s strategic plan of enhancing recruitment, enrollment, persistence, retention and graduation rates.
Primary Responsibilities
Master’s Degree and five (5) years related experience.
Extensive documented experience with a student information system in a college or university or demonstrated technical skills with other types of integrated administrative software.
Excellent overall knowledge of financial aid, higher education and federal/state financial aid regulations.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate and utilize data in planning and decision-making.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Responsible for efficient and effective daily administrative and organizational functions of both offices.
- Ensures the university is in compliance with federal, state and university rules and regulations. Fulfills requirements for reporting, auditing and reconciliation.
- Hires, trains, monitors and evaluates (or assigns
responsibility for all professional and support staff).
- Oversees office budget, including purchasing and acquiring
technology systems, vendor solutions and consultative
relationships.
- Manages the Office of Student Financial Assistance student information system ( SIGMA ). Represents the university in conducting financial literacy presentations and serves on university committees.
Master’s Degree and five (5) years related experience.
