Position Overview
Butler University Athletics is looking for an Assistant Director of Athletics Facilities. This individual would oversee the operations of all athletics facilities including historic Hinkle Fieldhouse. This role will manage the day-to-day operations of Fieldhouse and fieldhouse crew team to ensure that athletic facilities are properly maintained, while ensuring all events are properly supported for the department through effective communication and detailed organization. In addition, this position leads the fiscal management of the Fieldhouse budget and must work closely with numerous campus partners and vendors with the frequent need to multi-task at a high-level.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead and assist the Fieldhouse Crew staff in maintaining the athletic facilities, set-up for meetings, practices and events.
- Lead organization and planning of all athletics facility master scheduling through campus‐wide EMS system.
- Lead and manage staff within the facility through training, efficient daily communication.
- Document and approve attendance, time off, payroll and evaluations using Butler University standards.
- Coordinate purchasing of janitorial supplies and equipment/maintain equipment.
- Coordinate work requests for the department as needed with the Butler University Campus Facilities staff.
- Supervise the Layout and marking of athletic fields and gym floors (volleyball and camps) for practice and competitions.
- Supervise and/or perform tasks for repairs to facilities and equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in athletics and/or facility operations required.
- Possess strong organization skills to multi-task and problem solve efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a diverse atmosphere.
- Flexible hours required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, PeopleSoft and Chrome River software.
- Commitment to the values and mission of Butler University required.
- Supervisory experience
- IAVM knowledge and membership experience preferred.
