Job Description Summary
The Digital Marketing Manager at Penn Nursing plays a critical role in advancing the School's mission by developing and implementing comprehensive digital marketing strategies. This position is responsible for managing the School's website, social media platforms, and digital campaigns to enhance visibility, engagement, and reputation as a global leader in nursing education, research, and healthcare innovation.
Collaborating with the Dean's Office, Admissions, Development, and faculty, the Digital Marketing Manager ensures that all content aligns with Penn Nursing's brand and strategic goals. Using a combination of data-driven insights, creative storytelling, and emerging trends, this role drives measurable outcomes, such as increased online engagement, audience growth, and conversions across key target groups, including prospective students, alumni, and donors.
Job Description
REPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
1. Marketing
- Collaborate with the Admissions team to develop and implement digital campaigns, web content, and social media strategies that drive enrollment for Penn Nursing's graduate programs, highlighting key differentiators such as advanced clinical training, research opportunities, and leadership development. Ensure all digital content aligns with Penn Nursing's brand guidelines and communication strategy.
- Provide strategic recommendations for improving the School's online presence to strengthen its position as a leader in nursing education and research.
- Develop integrated marketing initiatives that showcase the School's innovative programs, transformative research, and community impact.
2. Web Management and Development
- Oversee and manage the Penn Nursing website, ensuring content is up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with branding guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement web pages that support recruitment, fundraising, events, and other initiatives.
- Monitor website performance using analytics tools; recommend and implement improvements to optimize content, functionality, and user engagement.
- Ensure the website is mobile-friendly, SEO-optimized, and compliant with accessibility standards.
- Showcase Penn Nursing's distinct strengths, such as cutting-edge research and impactful community programs, through dynamic and engaging web content.
3. Social Media Strategy and Execution
- Partner, develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies to elevate Penn Nursing's digital presence and engage key audiences.
- Create, schedule, and curate engaging content for platforms like Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and others that align with Penn Nursing's messaging and priorities.
- Manage the social media calendar to highlight major events, achievements, and initiatives, including recruitment campaigns and fundraising efforts.
- Analyze social media performance metrics; provide regular reports on engagement, reach, and audience growth, with actionable insights to enhance strategy.
- Stay informed on emerging trends to integrate innovative tactics that strengthen audience connections and engagement.
4. Content Creation and Coordination
- Write, edit, and publish high-quality content for digital platforms, including news updates, event promotions, feature stories, and research highlights.
- Partner with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to gather and produce content that aligns with Penn Nursing's mission and brand.
- Collaborate with marketing team members to ensure cohesive messaging across digital and print channels, strengthening Penn Nursing's overall brand presence.
5. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support
- Work with the Admissions team to create engaging content that drives prospective student interest and application rates.
- Partner with the Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) team to develop content that supports donor engagement and alumni outreach.
- Highlight faculty research and achievements through digital campaigns, underscoring Penn Nursing's contributions to healthcare innovation and education.
6. Additional Responsibilities
- Stay informed of industry trends, digital marketing tools, and best practices for web management and social media.
- Support online advertising and paid social media campaigns as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Marketing, Communications & Events.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years previous marketing campaign
experience, preferably at an agency or in higher
education.
- Must possess the ability to initiate and implement projects
with deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a
team.
- High skill level and experience with SEO/SEM, website funnel
design, Slate or other CRM, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics
and Data Studio desired.
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to build and
maintain effective professional relationships.
- Creative thinker and team player, possessing integrity,
discretion, and excellent judgment.
- Brings a positive attitude and willingness to help other team
members.
Work Environment:
This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days in the office and occasional evening and weekend event coverage as needed.
Targeted Pay Range: $65,000 - $78,000
This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
