Description

The College of Business (CoB) at the University of New England ( UNE ) invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor in one or more of the following areas (listed in alphabetical order, as there is no priority):
  • Accounting
  • Business Analytics
  • Economics
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Health Administration (or related field)
  • Marketing
  • Outdoor Business & Innovation
  • Sport Management
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Sustainable Business
Candidates with a graduate degree, along with strong industry backgrounds and experiences are sought. Teaching, working with students, and ongoing applied engagement with industry are the focus of this position. Teaching professors are full members of the faculty and a vital part of our team within CoB. Our mission is based around experiential education and all faculty are expected to embrace that in their courses, thought leadership, and service.

This is a 9-month position starting in August 2025, with a base salary of $70,000 to $80,000 annually. The successful candidate will join a collegial, engaged team of faculty and professional staff in UNE’s new College of Business that is growing and offering degree programs in many content areas. Graduate programs, professional programs, and online programs are all in our plans for the future.

Responsibilities

The school seeks candidates to teach in the College of Business and our undergraduate programs. Courses are offered in the fall and spring semester on the Biddeford campus. The typical teaching load for this position is the equivalent of 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity for excellence in teaching, involvement with industry, the ability to engage in curriculum development and participate in academic recruiting, course and program assessment, and service to the school, college and university. As a full-time faculty member, your workload will include service, student support, and thought leadership, as well as teaching.

Qualifications

A master’s degree in business in the area of your teaching or a related field combined with industry experience is required at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with a graduate degree in business ( MBA ), those with related accreditations ( CFA, CPA, etc.), or those with a combination of education and professional experience that provide commensurate qualifications. Professional work experience is highly valued for these positions.
