Description
This position acts as a recruiter and is a complex administrative position that must maintain an extensive knowledge of university admission requirements, policies and procedures in order to interpret those regarding admissions. Incumbent must be able to implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy within a specific territory or specific population of students and advise students on enrollment requirements. Travel and promote the university in a positive manner at recruitment events including community college fairs and visits within the states of Missouri and Kansas. Educate and inform prospective transfer students, parents, and college administrators about all aspects of the university including degree programs on-campus, online, and at UCM Lee's Summit. Plan and implement on and off campus events for potential transfer students, community college counselors/faculty/staff. Review transcripts of prospective students to determine transferability and applicability to UCM programs; advise students on general education and connect students to their advisor to coordinate associate degree requirements with UCM bachelor degree requirements. Actively manage the transfer inquiry and admit pools to enhance yield. The Transfer Coordinator is a member of the UCM Office of Admissions recruitment team and is based at UCM Warrensburg.
Examples of Duties
Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy within a specific territory or specific population of students and advise students on enrollment requirements to include: -50%
- Counsel and educate prospective transfer students, parents, and community college partners on all aspects of the university.
- Disseminate information pertaining to academic programs (on campus, online, and at UCM Lee’s Summit), regarding UCM financial aid, scholarships, housing, campus life, admissions requirements, and all other aspects of the university.
- Review transcripts of prospective students to determine transferability and applicability to UCM programs.
- Collaborate with UCM advisors and Registrar's office on issues related to credit transfer, articulation, and substitutions.
- Counsel students regarding UCM financial aid, scholarships, housing, campus life, admissions requirements, and all other aspects of the university.
- Travel to the Lees Summit campus to assist with campus visitors as needed.
- Respond to inquiries. Do follow-up with students based on the
transfer communication plan.
- Maintain database of transfer students, analyze data, and prepare reports.
- Respond to our Transfer email inbox
- Work collaboratively with university personnel to promote new
transfer initiatives
- Represent UCM at transfer recruitment events (primarily community college fairs and visits) throughout Missouri and Eastern Kansas.
- Partner with on-campus and UCM Lee’s Summit personnel to
organize student recruitment events
- Collaborate with on-campus and UCM Lee’s Summit personnel to
organize information and training sessions for community college
partners.
- Organize recruitment and yield events at community colleges for future transfer students
Education:
- Bachelor's degree (Specify field(s) of study below)
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication or related field preferred.
- One (1) year of demonstrated relevant work experience in higher
education required.
- Prefer experience in higher education environment.
- Experience in college recruitment or academic advising preferred.
