Lab Technician - Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology

Position Summary:

The VCU School of Medicine's department of Anatomy and Neurobiology is in search of a Lab Technician to join Dr. McQuiston's lab.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate will be expected to oversee the organization of the lab including ordering laboratory supplies, maintaining documentation required for laboratory inspections, maintaining a mouse breeding colony, performing immunofluorescence and clearing tissue procedures, performing intracranial injections of adeno-associated viruses, performing in vivo calcium imaging experiments and analysis using Inscopix miniscopes.

Required Qualifications:

BS in neuroscience or similar scientific background

Must have a demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in past experiences or a commitment to do so as a hourly employee at VCU

Preferred Qualifications:

MS in neuroscience or similar scientific background

This is a restricted position with no set end date and continued employment is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance.
