Job Summary

The postdoctoral scholar will conduct research in the Wave Lab under supervision of Prof. Massimo Ruzzene. The scholar will be involved in the advancement of one main research project and will supervise the work of graduate students. The research duties include the pursuit of research in the areas of topological acoustics, with applications to novel surface acoustic wave devices. The design of the devices will be driven by the need to explore the concept of exceptional points in order to achieve ultra-high sensitivities to be used for a variety of sensing concepts.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Conducting research on funded projects led by the PI.
  • Preparing and submitting publications related to the projects.
  • Attend relevant conferences.
  • Regularly meet with the PI for progress updates.
  • Supervise graduate students working on related projects.
What You Should Know
  • This position will support the supervision of two graduate students.

  • 12-month appointment. Annual salary is $60,000.00.

What We Require
  • PhD in mechanical engineering or related fields.
What You Will Need
  • Solid mechanics, wave propagation, structural dynamics, basic computational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
