Description:
The University of California, Merced is the newest and tenth campus of the University of California system and the first American research university built in the 21st century. The Executive Support Team Coordinator oversees the administrative operations of the Vice Chancellor for Business and Administrative Services (BAS) and the Vice Chancellor for Planning & Budget (P&B). The incumbent will provide a high level of organization, administrative, logistical and analytical support to the Vice Chancellors including the management of extremely complex calendars using independent judgment regarding priorities; develops and administers systems for managing information, projects, and communications throughout the units; functions with a high degree of autonomy. The Executive Support Team Coordinator uses concepts and campus objectives to resolve the most complex issues with campus-wide impact. The incumbent will collaborate with the Chief of Staff for BAS on the administrative function of the VC's offices and provide leadership and supervision for all administrative staff in the Executive Support Team. The Executive Support Team Coordinator interacts with UC Merced executive administrators, senior management, senior staff, faculty, administrators and faculty at other campuses, and the Office of the President.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training and minimum 5 years executive level assistance experience (VP, COO, CFO level or above – or equivalent) and minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
• Experience managing multiple executive level teams (VP, COO, CFO level or above – or equivalent) preferred
• Strong people management and human resources skills; Ability to motivate and influence others to achieve divisional goals; Ability to create a service-oriented team environment.
• Expert knowledge of the campus policies, processes, protocols and procedures preferred; Must possess the highest degree of diplomacy and political acumen to be able to handle differing perspectives and political circumstances within all levels of the campus, as well as, the Office of the President and external constituencies.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and implementation skills with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to research, analyze and synthesize information to prepare executive briefings, reports, and summaries; Strong skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, faculty, alumni/donors, students, and external constituencies; both verbally and in writing.
• Advanced knowledge of common campus-specific computer applications, with an exceptional understanding of the calendaring system.
• Advanced analytical/problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and assist with planning and implementation of required and special projects.
