Pre-Pharmacy Coordinator – Assistant Clinical Professor / Assistant Clinical Instructor Non Tenure, Clinical Track University of New England College of Pharmacy The College of Pharmacy of the University of New England is currently inviting applications for a full time non-tenure clinical track faculty/advising position with the Pre-pharmacy program based on our Biddeford campus. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The University of New England is an innovative health sciences university grounded in the liberal arts. UNE has a growing reputation for excellence in Interprofessional education. The Pre-pharmacy Coordinator will be required to actively collaborate with other faculty members in the College of Arts and Sciences, administrators such as Professional Student Advisors, Career Counselors, and members of the Student Academic Success Center, as well as faculty and administrators in the College of Pharmacy in Portland. As a non-tenured clinical track faculty member, the Pre-pharmacy Coordinator will be required to teach, advise, and provide service to the university including contributing as an active member to one or more Pharmacy or university committees. The successful candidate is also responsible for staying scholarly as related to remaining current in issues and topics of Pharmacy relevant to their interests and duties. Responsibilities of the position include serving as an advisor and mentor for UNE pre-pharmacy students, making presentations at local schools and universities to expand the exposure of the UNE Pre-pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy programs, and teaching didactic courses. Minimum qualifications include a BS in Pharmacy and 3+ years experience as a practicing pharmacist. Additional experience in pharmacy and related business areas is desired. Preferred candidates will possess a PharmD with post-graduate training or BS Pharmacy plus PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or related areas) and experience teaching in higher education setting (which may include 2 year junior college/ 4 year undergraduate/ graduate setting). All candidates must have or be eligible to attain their Maine Pharmacy license. Teaching or training experience in a healthcare or related setting (which might include any retail, hospital, pharmaceutical or other healthcare industry company, consulting), is desired. Other desired qualities includes experience in new program development or project management. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications. Because the Pre-pharmacy Coordinator will be working extensively with college freshmen and sophomores we are looking for a mature, caring individual with experience in a combination of areas. These may include pharmacy, business, management, and teaching, in order to understand and flourish in several roles working with undergraduate students, peers in the faculty, and administration. The position will be split between UNE’s two campuses, Biddeford - 80% / Portland - 20%.
