Our fast?growing division of Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion, driven to be the standard of excellence, seeks a member of our team.   Our ongoing commitment is to foster and maintain a campus environment free from all forms of discrimination and harassment.  We are searching for a driven, proactive, impartial individual who is seeking a challenge as our Title IX Coordinator and Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR) Administrator.   

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion, this position oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of the university’s efforts to comply with Title IX, VAWA/Campus SaVE Act, and California State University system wide policies prohibiting discrimination, harassment and retaliation.   

The Title IX Coordinator and DHR Administrator works collaboratively with campus divisions and units to lead the University’s efforts to prevent discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, including sexual harassment, sexual violence, and intimate partner violence.  The duties include, but are not limited to, creating and implementing effective educational programs and training materials for faculty, staff, and students on Title IX, DHR policies and other related topics; overseeing and/or conducting investigations of reported Title IX and DHR policy violations; developing an investigation plan for each Title IX and DHR complaint; making recommendations and preparing detailed, written reports; collaborating with multiple university divisions and units; and promoting prevention, education and awareness about Title IX and DHR policies to the University’s students and employees. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications     

• Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline from an accredited university.
• A minimum of seven years demonstrated experience in related field.
• Experience and training regarding conducting sensitive and confidential investigations alleging violations of Title IX or discrimination and harassment.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret federal and state laws regarding discrimination, harassment and retaliation.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to both be impartial and project impartiality and establish rapport with a diverse range of community members.
• Demonstrated ability to deal appropriately with confidential information and exercise good judgment on sensitive matters.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
• Strong organization and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare well-written reports and create effective presentations.
• Ability to handle a significant caseload and manage multiple deadlines.
• Presentation and facilitation skills with emphasis on education and training for a wide audience, including, but not limited to, students, faculty and staff with responsibilities in resolving sexual harassment/sexual violence, and Title IX complaints and with supervisor responsibility, and those whose day-to-day responsibilities involve working closely with students.
• Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Title IX, VAWA/Campus SaVE Act, and Related Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence Legislation, and Clery Act.


Preferred Qualifications     

• Master’s degree from an accredited university.
• A minimum of six years' experience in complaint resolution, including significant experience in handling various types of investigations related to sexual harassment, discrimination, and/or Title IX violations.
• Experience in a higher education setting preferred; public higher education highly preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with gender/sexual violence issues and effects of sexual assault on victims, survivor recovery, medical and legal procedures.


Special Working Conditions     The scope of responsibilities for this position includes the making or participating in the making of decisions that may have a material financial benefit on the incumbent. Therefore, you will be required to file an initial “Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interests” within thirty (30) days from date of hire and on an annual basis; and complete the CSU sponsored ethics on-line training within thirty (30) days of appointment, and at least once during each consecutive period of two calendar years following the appointment.

Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a fingerprint background check.
