Job Summary
The Curriculum Specialist/Instructional Technologist plays an integral role in creating and enhancing effective online learning experiences for the College of Nursing (CON). Working collaboratively with faculty and academic leaders, this position focuses on designing, developing, and evaluating engaging, high-quality online courses that align with institutional standards and foster student success. Leveraging expertise in instructional design and emerging technologies, the specialist ensures course content and delivery support effective learning outcomes.

Responsibilities
Student Outcomes
The Curriculum Specialist/Instructional Technologist enhances student success by developing evidence-based high-quality online courses using universal design principles that align with institutional standards. This includes:
• Collaborating with faculty and academic leaders to implement effective teaching/learning strategies and curricular improvement.
• Design and develop cutting-edge undergraduate and graduate courses, integrating the latest educational technologies, AI, and innovative pedagogical approaches.
• Analyze course content, course learning outcomes, and assessment alignment.
• Creating standardized resources and templates to ensure a cohesive, accessible curriculum across programs.
• Regularly evaluating and refining course elements to improve learning outcomes and student experiences.
• Staying current with trends to propose innovative strategies for student engagement and success.
Faculty Collaboration
The Curriculum Specialist/Instructional Technologist collaborates with and supports faculty in delivering exceptional student experiences by:
• Providing personalized support for course design and redesign, promoting best practices and innovation.
• Maintaining key resources like the Canvas faculty resource course and specific Canvas items (e.g., standardized templates, ‘Start Here,' page, and syllabi templates).
• Providing expertise on design principles, copyright, and tools like Kaltura/Mediaspace, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and other educational technologies.
• Collaborating with campus departments to resolve technical issues, adopt new technologies, and align curricula.
Quality Improvement
• Regularly evaluating and refining course elements to improve learning outcomes and student experiences.
• Ensuring course quality through consistency, accuracy, and accessibility checks.
• Providing personalized support for course design and redesign, promoting best practices and innovation.
• Using data and feedback to evaluate courses and recommend improvements.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department's area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required. Master's degree in a related area may be preferred.

Work Schedule Summary: This is a HYBRID position and will work on campus typically about three days per week and remotely if desired the other two, with schedules approved by the supervisor.
