Dean, College of Education
Anderson University of South Carolina invites applications for the position of Dean of the College of Education. This is a unique opportunity for a visionary, innovative, and entrepreneurially minded individual to take an already excellent Education program to new heights of performance and achievement. The new Dean will lead an accomplished group of highly talented faculty members who are dedicated to providing challenging academic experiences to their students within the context of Christian higher education. The College of Education offers the Bachelor of Science degree in Education with concentrations in Early Childhood; Elementary Education with an add-on certification in Early Childhood Education; Elementary Education with an add-on certification in Special Education Learning Disabilities; Physical Education (K-12); and Special Education. The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education is also available in the online environment. In collaboration with Departments of the Arts and Sciences, the College of Education also offers the option of completing a prescribed sequence of Professional Education courses that lead to initial teacher certification in the secondary (9-12) area of English, mathematics, and social studies. Undergraduate degrees with initial teacher certification are also offered in Art Education (K-12) and vocal or instrumental music education (K-12) in partnership with The South Carolina School of the Arts. Graduate degrees include a Master in Education; Master of Education: Administration and Supervision; and Master of Art in Teaching: Elementary Education. The programs of the College of Education are accredited by CAEP and the South Carolina State Department of Education. The University’s programs are offered at its historic campus in Anderson, South Carolina (www.andersonuniversity.edu).
