Job Summary:
Develops, implements, and sustains Education/Early Childhood Education courses, programs, and curricula mandated by the educational mission and goals of the College.  Uses technology-based instruction and develops Expected Student Outcomes.  Creates an innovative and engaging learning environment.  This is an in person position. 

Essential Functions:
1.     Designs and delivers effective instruction as assigned through traditional, online, and hybrid formats, using course outlines approved by Curriculum Council. 2.     In collaboration with departmental colleagues, designs/selects and implements appropriate assessment of student learning at the course and program level.3.     Works in conjunction with four-year partner institutions, K-12 partners, and external regulatory organizations (e.g., Department of Education, etc.) to ensure the development of measurable outcomes, currency, and revision of course and programmatic objectives, and the fulfillment of requirements for smooth credit transferability.4.     Advises students within academic discipline (or closely related field) and holds posted office hours, as required by the faculty contract.5.     Assists department chair in developing class schedules and department budget, when appropriate.6.     In collaboration with department chair or designee, selects and orders course textbooks in a timely fashion.7.     Submits contract, grades, and other required paperwork within prescribed timelines.8.     Contributes to governance by serving on instructional committees, task forces, or other workgroups and attends departmental, divisional, and college-wide meetings.9.     Recommends equipment and software needs to Instructional Division Dean.10.  Develops and maintains relationships with appropriate internal and external constituencies (e.g., area high schools, community agencies, advisory committees, professional organizations, industry partners, Testing & Tutoring Services, International Students office, etc.).11.  Collaborates with instructional administration in conducting program/discipline area reviews and other continuous improvement activities in teaching and learning, including periodic curriculum reviews.12.  Effectively integrates the use of instructional technology in instruction, when appropriate.13.  Remains current in the discipline taught as well as in current trends in teaching methodologies for their specific discipline.14.  Participates in graduation exercises.15.  Contributes to decision-making in a productive manner. 16.  Participates, as requested by instructional administration, in the interviewing and selection process for full-time faculty.17.  Maintains the highest ethical standards in relationships with constituencies, research activities, and business dealings with and on behalf of the College, per College policy.

Minimum requirement of a Master’s degree in Education and a ZS Endorsement (Early Childhood Education Endorsement).  Degree in a closely related field may be considered.  Highly desired qualifications include the following:  1) Teaching experience in an Early Childhood or Elementary setting.  2) Community college teaching experience.  3) Experience with program and curriculum development. 4) Experience in facilitation of field experiences for students. OTHER HIGHLY DESIRED QUALITIES: Commitment to student success; technically competent in standard office applications, instructional technology, and online instruction; ability to design and implement effective assessment strategies for measuring student learning; knowledgeable and committed to the mission and purposes of community colleges.

Salary Range: Based on highest education level achieved and Faculty Grid
