The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at Loyola University Maryland seeks a full-time Italian instructor to teach three courses in Italian each semester (language and/or advanced contemporary Italian culture and literature) for AY 2015-2016. In addition, the person would coordinate the Italian pre-core and core language sequence (IT101-103, plus IT161 and IT162) to prepare students for completing the modern language core requirement. The core sequence coordination requires approximately 8-10 hours of work a week to ensure all students are having a common experience concerning pacing and assessments. Service to the department as appropriate. Successful candidates must have at least a Master's degree in an appropriate field, must have native or near-native fluency in Italian, and must have college teaching experience.
