The Department of Chemistry at North Carolina A&T State
University, College of Science and Technology, invites applications
for a non-tenure track teaching assistant professor or teaching
associate professor faculty position starting in August 2025. This
is a nine (9) month, full-time, non-tenure track position. A higher
non-tenure track rank might be considered for qualified candidates.
The initial appointment of the position is two years, and it is
eligible for renewal.
The hired faculty is expected to show commitment to teaching excellence. She/he is expected to engage in culturally responsive teaching. This position's primary duties and responsibilities include teaching undergraduate-level courses, conducting tutoring and supplemental instruction, and student advising. Engagement in recruitment, curriculum development, and conducting scholarly activities are also expected. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to serving on committees, engaging in program assessment, and providing service to the department, college, and university as needed. Administrative duties and responsibilities include collaborative work with faculty to improve programs, develop new programs and extracurricular opportunities, such as internships, serve as coordinator of multiple section courses, chair committees, assist with recruitment, or advise student organizations. Mentoring undergraduate students is also expected. A candidate whose teaching efforts promote the mission of the Chemistry Department and the strategic vision of the College of Science and Technology (COST) and the University is highly desired. Collaboration with colleagues from the sciences, mathematics, and technology areas is encouraged.
