CHAIR AND ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WORK

The University of West Florida Department of Social Work invites applications for a 12 month tenure track teaching and administrative appointment as Chair of the Department of Social Work. The Chair will have administrative responsibility for the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs and is expected to lead the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) reaffirmation of the BSW and MSW programs. The Social Work program has been serving students since the early seventies and currently has an enrollment of 250 BSW students, 110 MSW students and 100 Social Work Minor students. While most students are on the main campus (Pensacola), the program offers courses online and in other locations in Northwest Florida.

Minimum Qualifications for the Position: Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

Qualifications for Position: The candidate must possess a Doctorate in Social Work or closely related field and a Master of Social Work (MSW), successful experience in academic administration, and demonstrate evidence of a minimum of five years of effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in a Social Work program. Additionally, the candidate should present an established research and practice record in Social Work, show a history of service at the university and community levels, and demonstrate knowledge of and have experience in Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) structures, procedures, and reaffirmation standards. It is preferred that the candidate has experience in developing and supporting distance education, grant acquisition, securing of external funding, and resource development. Starting date is August 8, 2015. Salary is commensurate with experience.
