Program Coordinator

The Davis Center

 

The college is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time, year-round Program Coordinator reporting to the Director of the Davis Center. The Program Coordinator plans and executes the college’s Heritage Programming, Martin Luther King Jr. Day Commemorations, and spearheading the center’s communication efforts. This individual will serve as the center’s liaison on Williams’ event review and logistics (ERL) working group and will train and advise student group leaders and the DC staff on ERL protocols. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the alignment of an array of academic departments, staff departments, and student groups to execute upwards of seventy-five events per year. These events range from college-wide dinners and student conferences to public presentations by visiting artists and lecturers.

 

The Williams College Davis Center’s mission is pursued through three main channels: inclusive academic excellence and intellectual engagement; social justice learning, advocacy, and activism; and student support and programming. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Advise and mentor students regarding individual concerns and group programming
  • Staff DC open office hours, evening office hours, and MinCo GenCom meetings on a rotating basis
  • Responsible for recruitment and supervision of the Davis Center’s interns
  • Curate Center’s archives, including the images, videos, and event printed materials
  • Serve as point-person for 4 MinCo groups
  • Collaborate with Admissions on various Davis Center Pre-Frosh Events
  • Manage the event communications and marketing budget
  • Curate and edit weekly newsletter, as well as develop content for the DC website
  • Monitor and develop social media content and strategy
  • Regular evening, nights, and weekends hours are required

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years’ experience working in academic communities is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues relating to historically underrepresented communities
  • Experience in supporting academic achievement, student development, social justice activism and workshop facilitation is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are a must
  • Experience with web based content management systems highly preferred
