Opportunity: Kent State University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track (NTT) position as an Instructor of Computer Science, beginning fall semester 2015. Potential applicants will be able to contribute to a growing computer science department by teaching multiple core undergraduate courses and developing new courses in areas of high interest to the department, including big data, security, computer engineering, and medical informatics. In addition to teaching, an NTT may also actively engage in research. This position may also include other administrative duties as assigned. The total workload of NTT faculty members at Kent State University is 15 credit hours per semester. The candidate should be motivated to use modern teaching methods; excellence in teaching is expected and required.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in computer science or related area is desirable, however, a candidate with a Master’s Degree and significant teaching experience in computer science courses will also be considered. Experience in teaching and developing courses using online technology, or the ability and desire to do so, is a plus.
