Salary Range: $45,000- $50,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

Administer and manage fiscal accounts and related operations.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for providing assistance in maintaining efficient and effective fiscal operations and for maintaining appropriate controls.
  2. Assists in the development, organization, and implementation of effective fiscal operations.
  3. Assists in developing controls to monitor and track expenses, make adjustments, or transfer funds.
  4. Oversees the maintenance and distribution of detailed reports, records of accounting data related to preparing and tracking budgets, billings, financial reports such as reconciliation reports and related correspondence to external agencies.
  5. Makes recommendations for procedural improvements and provides information regarding rules and regulations regarding fiscal transactions.
  6. Provides reports evaluating program fiscal status.
  7. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and account reconciliation.
  8. Assists in preparing and modifying yearly budgets.
  9. Supervises cash handling activities and transactions.
  10. Assists in the preparation of annual financial report schedules and related assignments.
  11. Assists with payroll as needed.
  12. May provide work assignments in the absence of management.
  13. Promote safety and environmental protection by working in a safe manner; immediately reporting unsafe situations, spills, and accidents; following University safety plans/procedures/protocols; and participating in appropriate safety training.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
    • Additional experience may substitute for the required degree on a one-for-one basis.
  • Two (2) years of administrative or managerial accounting or related experience.

Working Conditions

Working Environment:
  • Office environment.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required.
  • Personal computer and standard office equipment.

This position will require working both remotely in Texas and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
