Program Coordinator
Job Summary
Plans and implements activities of a program within a department, ensuring goals and objectives are in accordance with established criteria. Interprets program policies and advises program participants on the application of regulations.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
1. Coordinates daily program operations and activities.2. Develops and implements program goals and objectives.3. Monitors program quality and effectiveness and researches improvement methods.4. Establishes program budget; monitors and approves related expenditures and ensures budget goals are met.5. Will be responsible for opening and reconciling travel accounting expenses.6. Coordinates staff, students and others regarding program policies, goals and related technical issues.7. Prepares reports, financial statements and records on program status and progress for management and outside agencies.8. Flexible work schedule that could include weekends and evenings.9. Helps schedule meetings, seminars and other program related functions.10. Assign, direct and review work of support staff.11. Can successfully perform all of the essential functions of job code 7130, Ophthalmic Medical Specialist.12. Helps plans and expediates the work flow while ensuring smooth operation ofof the office under pressure of frequent interruptions and change in priorities.13. Can assists with other ophthalmic procedures- surgical prep and injections.14. Have knowledge of ophthalmic imaging, as needed, including anterior segment photography, externa Photography.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
