Manager of HR Administration
About the Opportunity
The Manager of HR Administration is the primary owner of human resource operations and business process transactional support across the divisions and Colleges, including but not limited to position management, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, training, and performance development. The Manager collaborates closely and frequently with HR Business Partners, staff, managers, and division leaders. They also serve as the primary liaison with other university HR colleagues and Centers of Excellence on issues related to hiring, data accuracy, benefits, payroll, time tracking, etc. Under the guidance of the Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs), the manager routinely audits employee data within the portfolio and generates analytical reports and trends to support HR planning activities for business unit leaders and HRBPs.
The Manager of HR Administration is a proactive problem solver and a knowledgeable expert in HR systems as well as division- and college-specific practices. They address issues, identify opportunities for improvement, and propose creative solutions, collaborating with the team to design and implement necessary changes.
The Manager needs a process-oriented mind, thrives when executing tasks, and enjoys creating process documentation, workflows, guides, and resources. They must have exceptional attention to detail and follow-through, be well organized, able to juggle multiple competing priorities, be collaborative with a strong team affinity, and communicate clearly and professionally. The Manager of HR Administration will also supervise HR staff, which requires the ability to provide guidance, support, feedback, coach for performance, and effectively delegate and prioritize tasks to best meet the team's needs.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated analytical skills to read, interpret, and
communicate data to inform practices, processes, and aid in
decision-making
- Ability to translate HR policies, system processes, and best
practices into everyday language that managers and staff can
understand
- Proven ability to effectively work with competing priorities
and with an agile, flexible approach. Demonstrated experience
implementing process improvements. Well-developed problem-solving
skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow through
skills are essential
- Knowledge and skills required for this position are normally
obtained from a bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 5-7
years of progressive operational experience, preferably in human
resources and/or a leadership role.
- Advanced MS Office proficiency, including SharePoint,
spreadsheet, database, presentation, and research skills
preferred
- Workday experience preferred
