In collaboration with the Division Chair, Faculty Research Director, and Butler Venture Accelerator Faculty Director, the Director is responsible for the strategic direction, tactical execution and operational oversight of the AMBCE. The Arthur M. Blank Center (AMBCE) for Entrepreneurship focuses on expanding the practice of Entrepreneurship of All Kinds™ through innovative co-curricular programs and global collaborative research initiatives that inspire and inform Entrepreneurial Thought and Action®. The Center provides a home for members of the Entrepreneurship Division faculty, the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Practices (STEP) Project, the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference, and the John E. and Alice L. Butler Venture Accelerator (BVA) Program.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Provides onsite, day-to-day direction and leadership toward the achievement of the AMBCE’s mission and annual goals while anticipating significant opportunities, problems, and issues for the Center, and initiates appropriate action without supervision; directs the administrative staff for all currently established programs, conferences, and initiatives of the Center; identifies and evaluates new Center programs and initiatives and takes appropriate action.
• Works closely with the Entrepreneurship Division to enhance the strategic dimension of entrepreneurship across campus with an appropriate balance of practice and academics.
• Directs the co-curricular initiatives/programs established by the Center to support the student business launch and growth process including the BVA Program, the Babson College Seed Fund, the annual Rocket Pitch Event, and B.E.T.A. Challenge Competitions.
• Oversees, with Faculty Director of the Butler Venture Accelerator, the development and dissemination of materials and other media products for use in the Butler Venture Accelerator program.
• Acts as primary AMBCE leader within the internal Babson community (i.e., Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership, Cutler Center, Alumni/Development, Admission and Career Service Offices, Lewis Institute).
• Collaborates closely with Babson College units (Undergraduate School, Graduate School, Executive Education and Babson Global) to advance shared objectives.
• Identifies, recruits, and leverages entrepreneurs-in-residence (EIRs) to enhance the curricular and co-curricular experience for Babson students and faculty.
• Works closely with the Faculty Research Director who provides strategic direction and oversight for GEM US and Global; the STEP Global Project, the Diana Project and BCERC to insure staff coordination, appropriate dissemination and budget management.
• Builds strategic alliances with entrepreneurship programs, organizations and associations (e.g. GCEC, NBIA, USASBE, MassChallenge) that align with the Center’s mission and objectives.
• Identifies and pursues funding opportunities (e.g. sponsorships and alumni giving) to advance the Center’s programs and events.
• Manages to budget and provides direction and oversight to the Center’s budget management process which includes 20 accounts totaling almost $2 million.
• Serves as a senior member of the Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs selection committee.
• Advises the student leadership team for the annual Babson Entrepreneurship Forum and ensures that the event reflects the College’s global recognition in entrepreneurship education.
• Provides the leadership role in organizing a series of meaningful college-wide events for Global Entrepreneurship Week.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

Minimum Level of Education Required MBA
Position Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Requirements:
• At least 10+ years of experience of increasingly responsible leadership roles
• Must have strategic opportunity, business development, and competitive assessment experience
• Must have significant personnel management experience
• Experience working as part of leadership team and coordinating with internal and external partners
• Self-starter and ability to lead and motivate others who are not direct reports
• Must have leadership, judgment, and creative problem-solving experience
• Understanding of international cultures and business practices
• Proposal and grant development experience a plus
• Program and project management expertise
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong computer and internet skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Strong financial, budgetary, and supervisory skills
• Presentation and database management skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work with all constituencies
Working Conditions:
• Travels domestically and internationally, as appropriate, to develop new programs and to represent the Arthur M. Blank Center.
• Valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License, with an insurable (as determined by Babson’s insurers’ criteria) or a satisfactory driving history.
Additional Experience, Skills & Abilities:
• Prior experience in a start-up or entrepreneurial company is highly desirable
• Prior business owner experience is a plus
