Position Summary: This is a full time, permanent position reporting to the Site Director and based in Madrid, Spain.
- The position has responsibility for all aspects of the student life activities and resources at NYU Madrid including housing, health and safety, student programming, social media for student-related activities, and for ensuring students comply with NYU policies, procedures and expectations. Works closely with and oversees the Home Stay Housing Coordinator and handles apartment housing for students.
- This position works directly with students, their faculty, administrators at the Madrid site, as well as other staff in NY or the portal campuses.
- There are presently about 130-150 students at NYU Madrid per semester, with 50-60 during summer session.
- Make a positive and proactive contribution to NYU Madrid team. Look for ways to improve the site and service provided to students. Develop excellent relationships with team members and faculty. Provide support for conferences and events. This job requires flexibility as it involves some out of hours working, including some evenings and weekends as well as staggered shift patterns and "on call" duties.
Qualifications/Required Education: Bachelors degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Required Experience: Experience with American Higher Education and study abroad programs
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.): Advanced level/fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish (preferably bilingual), outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, ability to handle crisis situations calmly, problem-solver, proactive, flexible and willing to embrace change, proven ability to mentor and motivate staff. Candidates must have a Spanish work permit/residence or an EU passport.
