Network Engineer (Edge Routing and Switching)

Job Summary

Assists in the development and maintenance of network communications. Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.

Responsibilities

• Configure and install all network edge equipment for new and replacement installations at the University.
• Document the network diagrams for new and replacement edge equipment.
• Troubleshoot edge equipment to resolve end user issues.
• Work with network engineers to solve DNS, Firewall, Load Balancer, VPN and other network issues.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
