Assistant Professor (Lecturer), Master of Science in Laboratory Medicine and Biomedical Science Program
Details
The Medical Laboratory Sciences Division, Department of Pathology, University of Utah School of Medicine, invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track position for the Master of Science in Laboratory Medicine and Biomedical Sciences program.
Primary responsibilities will include collaborative teaching of core didactic coursework and introductory research skills for the graduate program. Coursework includes pathophysiology, biochemical laboratory techniques, laboratory correlations, and other courses as assigned. Administrative responsibilities in the Medical Laboratory Sciences Division will also be assigned commensurate with prior experience, operational needs of the graduate program, and faculty interest. Academic rank will be commensurate with prior experience. Flexible start date beginning Fall 2024. Position will remain open until filled.
Applicants must be ASCP certified as a Technologist or eligible, have a Master of Science degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science, Laboratory Medicine, Medical Laboratory Science, or directly related field. (PhD or DCLS preferred). The candidate must also have a minimum of 2 years laboratory bench-level experience, and have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants who have college or clinical teaching experience.
