Spanish. Assistant Professor of Spanish, tenure-track position, to start in September 2025.
Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or a closely related field required. The successful candidate will teach seven courses per academic year (3-1-3), maintain an active research agenda, mentor students, and engage in service to the college and the department. Teaching duties include all levels of language. We are especially interested in candidates who employ proficiency-based instruction and have the ability to teach Translation and Spanish for the Professions. Experience and/or willingness to direct January term language immersion abroad is highly desirable.
Participation in an interdisciplinary, values-oriented general education program is required, including a regular rotation in the two-semester first-year program. Eckerd College, the only independent national liberal arts college in Florida, has a tradition of innovative education and teaching/mentoring excellence.
