The Cancer Biostatistics Shared Resource at Huntsman Cancer Institute and the Study Design and Biostatistics Center (SDBC) in the Division of Epidemiology at the University of Utah invite applications for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Research or Tenure Track. We are seeking candidates with the research skills and experience required to assume leadership roles in multi-disciplinary research teams successfully and to support and develop grant proposals. The successful candidate will have opportunities to participate in methodological research. Substantive interest and experience are desired in one or more of the following areas: methods for cancer research, modern causal inference, behavioral statistics, pharmacological research, clinical trial design, analysis of secondary data, machine learning, and high dimensional data analysis, and applications of mixed effects models to health data. This position will have its academic home in the Division of Epidemiology in the Department of Internal Medicine.
The Cancer Biostatistics Research supports cancer-related research with the Huntsman Cancer Institute. The SDBC is the statistical core of the Translational Research: Implementation, Analysis and Design (TRIAD) Team, which is a multidisciplinary group of biostatisticians, epidemiologists, psychometricians, health economists, survey design researchers, systematic review experts, and qualitative researchers engaged in a wide range of collaborations throughout the Health Science Center of the University of Utah. Focus areas of the Cancer Biostatistics Resource and the SDBC include the design and analysis of clinical trials and observational studies, cancer research, analysis of longitudinal and survival data, epidemiologic modeling, Bayesian analysis, modern causal inference, statistical genetics and genomics, machine learning methods, and behavioral statistics and psychometrics.
Required Qualifications: PhD in biostatistics or related discipline, demonstrated excellence in collaborative and methodological research, experience writing statistical sections for grant applications.
