Job Summary

French Immersion Preschool/Kindergarten teacher. Instruct 100% in French adhering to the French Ministry of Education with an emphasis on French language, stories, songs, alphabet, numbers, music, art, dance and physical exercise. May coordinate and teach in after school and summer camp programs for preschool through elementary school students

Responsibilities
Develops lesson plans to stimulate and develop mental progress, as well as provide a well rounded day of activity for pre-schoolchildren. Extinguishes, or lessens inappropriate behavior and redirects children to appropriate actions by applying child guidance techniques to help children learn to manage their own behavior. Provides art work and craft projects for children to develop appreciation and joy of creation. Oversees teacher aides to interpret behaviors, and ensure they are working appropriately with children. Teaches and leads children in singing and finger plays to help them develop memory, verbal skills and a love for music. Assists children with physical necessities, i. e. daily nutritional needs, toileting of preschoolers, medical emergencies, etc. to give proper care and, where appropriate, facilitate development. Cleans and decorates the classroom by dusting and vacuuming to provide a clean environment and display what the children are doing, as well as show their development. Interacts with parentsand/or guardians to discuss concerns, day-to-day problems, suggestions, etc. to alleviate concerns and maintain a harmonious relationship.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in child development, education, or a related field; two year's experience teaching or planning and directing a children's educational or service program, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated human relations skills; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required. Master's degree preferred.

Preferences
Native French speaker and experience teaching in a French immersion program.
