Duties for this role encompass offering clinical services, engaging in research, instructing residents and fellows, and contributing to quality enhancement and value-driven projects. The academic appointment will be at a rank commensurate with training and experience.
Qualifications:
The ideal applicant will hold board certification or be board-eligible from the American Board of Radiology or its equivalent and will have completed fellowship training. A robust background and keen interest in academic radiology are essential. Exceptional clinical acumen, interpersonal capabilities, and a history of involvement in educational and/or research activities are required.
Facilities and Institution:
The Musculoskeletal Radiology section delivers both diagnostic imaging and an array of musculoskeletal interventional procedures across several locations. These include the University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Hospital, University Orthopaedic Center, and multiple outpatient centers along the Wasatch Front. We are proud to serve as the official radiology and healthcare provider for esteemed organizations such as the Utah Jazz (NBA), Real Salt Lake (MLS), Salt Lake Bees (Triple-A minor league baseball), US Olympic/Paralympic teams, and 19 University of Utah Utes collegiate athletic squads. Our department boasts a distinguished MSK fellowship and offers residency programs in both Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology. Abundant research opportunities are accessible, featuring a range of imaging resources that include multiple MRIs, dual-energy CTs, intraoperative MRI, and PET-CT scanners. Cutting-edge pre-clinical imaging tools like micro PET-MRI and 7T MRI are also at your disposal. For those interested, the department provides musculoskeletal procedural opportunities in areas such as oncologic and spine intervention.
