Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Cardiovascular Immunology

The Nora Eccles Harrison Cardiovascular Research and Training Institute (CVRTI) and the Department of Pathology / Division of Microbiology & Immunology (M&I) jointly announce a new tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. We seek individuals with basic and/or translational research programs addressing the crosstalk between cardiovascular biology and inflammation, immune function and/or infectious disease. The CVRTI is a freestanding institute housing the country's largest interdisciplinary grouping of cardiac myocyte biology, electrophysiology, and metabolism investigators. M&I is an academic division that is home to >20 primary tenure track faculty and numerous adjunct faculty with expertise in basic immune biology, autoimmunity, inflammation, innate immunity, infectious disease, microbial pathogenesis and cancer immunology, providing abundant opportunities for scientific support and collaboration. Priority will be placed on research program strength and future potential. Laboratories will be located in the CVRTI and, if applicable, clinical responsibilities at the nearby University of Utah Medical Center, both situated on the University of Utah's Health Sciences Campus. Primary academic appointments will be in the Department of Pathology and preferably the Division of Microbiology and Immunology. Faculty appointee will be expected to participate in graduate programs (see https://admin.pathology.utah.edu/pathology/microbiology-immunology/phd and https://bioscience.utah.edu/). Ongoing partial salary support and generous start-up and annual funding will be provided. A Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D., at least 4-5 years research background, and potential for a robust independent research program are required.
Successful applicants would join an enthusiastic and well-funded faculty that included multiple recipients of NIH Director's New Innovator Awards, Pew Scholars, and Burrough's Wellcome Awards, among many other prestigious new and established investigator awards.
