Job Description

This position is responsible for creating web applications and applying database technologies to support the MU School of Medicine’s needs.

This position involves developing new custom applications and supporting/upgrading existing web applications for the School of Medicine's admissions, student portfolio, faculty portal, enrollment, evaluations, grade transmission and other projects.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Work with faculty and staff to improve and automate data collection, reporting and workflow processes.
• Identify, analyze, and document project requirements.
• Develop web applications to collect and display information ensuring a seamless, efficient and dynamic user experience.
• Test, modify, debug, document and maintain existing programs.
• Develop work effort and cost estimates to determine project feasibility and help set priorities.
• Assist supervisor by conducting research and development (R&D) on new technologies.
• Build reusable and modular components using React's functional components, hooks and state management.
• Design, develop, and maintain web applications and APIs using ASP.NET Core.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Use version control tools such as Git to manage codebase and handle code releases.

Skills needed include but are not limited to:

• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience with Git and Github for project management.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, specifically React.js.
• Strong proficiency in ASP.NET Core for web application and API development.
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code following best practices.
• Proficiency with relational databases (MS SQL Server and MySQL) and SQL Programming.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Shift

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Training: Demonstrated ability to design, develop, deliver and support web applications using one or more of the following languages/frameworks: React.js, ASP.NET Core, C#, HTML5 CSS3, MS SQL and stored procedures.

Hiring Range: $51,875-$94,141
