Job Description:
The Department of Information Sciences and Technology within the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC) is seeking applicants for the position of part-time lecturer/adjunct professor in the fields of Information Science and Informatics.
The mission of the CEHC is to bring together people, technology and knowledge to address the challenges of the 21st century. We accomplish this through high quality academic programs, an interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial spirit, enthusiasm for learning and teaching, the operational application of knowledge, and cutting-edge research initiatives. As the first college of its kind in the nation, CEHC has seen its undergraduate academic programs grow rapidly and is projected to grow further as it expands undergraduate and graduate academic programs in Informatics, Information Science, Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity. The Department of Information Sciences and Technology offers a wide range of courses covering a variety of topics including general technology, game design, social science research methods, interactive user experience, software development, social media, data analytics, information technology, society and technology, library services, archives, and information management. Successful applicants will receive teaching assignments based on course availability and the candidate's expertise.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements :
A master's degree in an Information Science, Informatics, technology, or related discipline from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department or an internationally recognized accrediting organization is required;
OR
A Bachelor's degree in an Information Science, Informatics, technology, or related discipline from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department or an internationally recognized accrediting organization degree in applicable fields (or closely related disciplines) AND significant industry experience.
Applicants must address in their application their ability to work with culturally diverse populations. Please indicate if you are available to teach in person or online.
Preferred qualifications :
A doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in an Information Science, Informatics, technology, or related discipline from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
Prior teaching experience.
Significant Industry experience.
