Job Description:
The University at Albany (SUNY) seeks to hire a Visiting Assistant Professor (10 Month) for Fall 2024 (August 15, 2024, start date) in the Department of Anthropology with teaching obligations for a large and growing undergraduate major in Human Biology. We seek a biological anthropologist able to teach lab sections for Human Anatomy and Physiology (AANT 316), as well as upper-level courses in Biological Anthropology/Human Biology. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience and research interests that complement existing departmental strengths. The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of three courses per semester.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
- Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role.
- A Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization by 8/15/2024. Candidates who will not hold this degree by this date will not be considered.
- PhD in Biological Anthropology, Biology or other related discipline.
- Experience in teaching at the undergraduates in Biological Anthropology, Biology or related discipline.
- Research interests that complement existing departmental strengths.
