Overview

The Associate Dean (AD) for Diversity and Inclusion serves as a key leader within the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) and acts as a Deputy to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Diversity, Belonging, and Well-Being. This critical role offers the unique opportunity to work closely with students, faculty, and senior leadership across the University to support and amplify the institution’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

The AD is responsible for collaborating with ODI staff to develop curricula and implement training modules that enhance students’ learning and build their capacity to engage in meaningful dialogue on issues of diversity, inclusion, belonging, well-being, and identity. This role involves organizing, designing, delivering, and evaluating workshops, trainings, and experiential learning opportunities, such as Intergroup Dialogue, that focus on identity, social constructs, inclusion, and engagement across differences.

The AD also serves as the lead and organizer for the Dialogue and Difference in Action (DDA) pre-orientation program, ensuring its continued success and impact. Reporting directly to the AVP, the AD has a significant opportunity to forge collaborative partnerships across the University community and make a broad, lasting impact on DEI efforts. The AD also supervises an administrative assistant, who provides administrative, event, and logistical support to ODI.

This role is ideal for an experienced DEI professional who thrives in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments, is passionate about fostering inclusive excellence in higher education, and has strong communications skills.

Review of applications will begin immediately, with preference given to applications received by January 20th. All applications must include a cover letter.
