Child Psychologist Specializing in Behavioral Health Integration in a High School-Based Health Clinic

Details

The Division of Pediatric Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a child psychologist to be part of a school-based health clinic at West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ideally, this doctoral level individual brings expertise and interest in treating adolescents with behavioral health concerns in integrated settings. Previous experience in educational system is preferred but not necessary. Our school-based health center focuses on increasing access to mental health services through an integrated interdisciplinary approach.

We are seeking a licensed psychologist to work closely with multidisciplinary team members at the West High School Clinic, including pediatricians, adolescent psychiatrists, social workers, care coordinators, nurse practitioners, graduate students and medical trainees within these disciplines. The child psychologist will see patients ages 12-18 with a full range of mental health needs, providing individual and group therapy and at times performing psychological assessments. The psychologist will be a faculty member part of the Division of Behavioral Health in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah with additional expectations for teaching and scholarly projects.

Qualified candidates will have obtained a PhD or PsyD (clinical, counseling, school, or combined program) in an APA accredited psychology training program and completed an APA-accredited internship. The ideal candidate will have additional experience with adolescent mental health and school-based mental health. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure Track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Department and University offers a competitive salary and an exceptional benefits program including non-contributory retirement contributions of 20.2% of annual salary that vest immediately. The Department offers a faculty development and mentoring program designed to foster success in translational or basic research, quality improvement engagement, and educator excellence.
