Additionally, the Division partners with researchers in the University-wide Immunology, Inflammation, and Infectious Disease (3i) Initiative, with strong investigative groups in host-pathogen interactions, inflammatory bowel disease, neurologic diseases, global health, and cancer; and the Microbiota and Gastrointestinal Immunology Consortium (MAGIC), with strong investigative groups in microbiota research. The University is also a premier academic environment for bioinformatics and data science. In addition, the University is closely affiliated with investigators at ARUP Laboratories, a premier reference laboratory with extensive microbiologic resources, expertise in diagnostics, and access to clinical samples and isolates, as well as the Utah Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Salt Lake City Health Care System.
