Research Assistant/Analyst

Job Summary

Conducts and organizes literature reviews; edits grant applications and scientific papers for spelling, grammar, and general clarity; performs simple queries using publicly available software (e.g. CDC WONDER, SEER*Stat); assists with office organization and scientific paper submission; creates publishable tables and figures using Excel, Word, and other Office Applications or relevant statistical software.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions1. Edit research papers, project reports, proposals and curriculum materials prior to publication or presentation.2. Prepares preliminary materials (e.g. text, statistics, figures, tables) for grant applications3. Maintains an internal library on project information resources and final data collected.4. May work with research personnel in the design and preparation of research projects and in recording data.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the fields of Biology, Statistics, Environmental Science, Liberal Arts, or Social/Behavioral Science or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience; ability to read, write, and edit documents with precision; ability to be self-directed; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. People with prior office management skills are encouraged to apply.
