Job Description:

SUMMARY:

The Program Manager of the Biotechnology Master's Program is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Program and execution of its strategic initiative and workshops. Under the leadership of the Program Director, the Program Manager will oversee the financial management of the Biotechnology Master's program and ensure the various initiatives are executed to plan and continue to build out the Program's offerings. The Program Manager will plan, develop, manage, and reconcile annual program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accuracy. This position develops course evaluation reports for the Program Director's review. The incumbent will coordinate with Biomed Finance/Analytics as it pertains to the review of MOUs with the School of Professional Studies. The position will collaborate with the BioEd Program Manager to initiate and execute the appointments of Biotech faculty. The Program Manager will supervise the Program Coordinator and is expected to make independent decisions and troubleshoot issues to allow leadership to spend time on critical, high-level work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience
  • Required: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience is required related work experience in program management, preferably in an academic environment
  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of managerial experience
  • Required: Experience overseeing budgets and making financial models
  • And/or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in program and financial management
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage confidential personal, business/financial data and information.
  • Ability to effectively manage resources and establish appropriate priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion and independent sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially excel, gmail, smart phones, web-based tools, Banner, FileMaker, WorkDay, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and a willingness to use new and virtual technology to provide effective and efficient products to constituencies.
  • Excellent communication skills-both oral and written-to elicit and communicate information, to analyze data, and to prepare /present clear, informative, and concise materials.
  • The ability to work independently, supervise, and to manage up.
  • Demonstrated experience in a diverse environment working closely with students and faculty.
  • Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
