MEP is looking to hire a graduate assistant who will collaborate closely with MEP staff, campus departments, and industry partners to create and implement the BOOST program for incoming transfer scholars. BOOST is expected to be a week-long program that will offer a series of workshops, community-building activities, campus tours, and career-readiness opportunities.

The graduate assistant will develop the BOOST program during the spring semester, lead its implementation during the week-long session in late May, and manage the assessment and evaluation of its outcomes upon completion.

Responsibilities:

• Co-develop goals and outcomes for summer bridge program
  
• Support recruiting efforts, including marketing/promo materials and student phone calls
  
• Schedule workshops, university and industry tours, and community building experiences
  
• Connect broader university and career related concepts to diverse student's social and intersectional identities
  
• Engage in relationship building with campus staff, industry partners, and incoming transfer students
  
• Create assessment strategy of bridge program and evaluate outcomes
  
• Work with division directors on strategic grant initiatives
  
  Qualifications:
  
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral program in STEM or a closely related field.
  
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and problem solve.
  
• The ability to work effectively in a complex organization, within a team environment with other staff.
  
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, teamwork and collaboration skills.
  
• Experience promoting social justice and inclusivity in academic programming for students
  
  This is a great opportunity and both internal Mines Graduate Students, as well as external Graduate Students, are encouraged to apply. Chosen candidate can expect to earn $18.00-$22.00 per hour and will be expected to work between 5-10 hours per week dependent on availability during the Spring '25 semester. In addition to 1 full week (May 26-30) 8a-5p (40 hours) during the Summer '25 semester.
