Position Summary

The Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to begin August 26, 2024. The department is home to a vibrant community of 23 full-time faculty who share a commitment to excellence in teaching, robust mentorship of undergraduate students, and who value and uphold diversity and varied perspectives. We seek colleagues who will be dedicated teachers, active scholars willing to incorporate undergraduate students into their research programs, and engaged members of the department and the university. We are looking for individuals with a degree in any area of psychology (or closely related field) who have the expertise necessary to teach courses in any of the following areas: clinical/counseling, developmental/lifespan, cross-cultural, or social. Although the specialty areas are open for both positions, candidates with experience in clinical/developmental psychology courses who could contribute to the At-Risk Child and Youth Care minor would be given preference.

Candidates should have completed or be near completion of a doctorate degree in psychology or a closely related field by August 2024. Degree must be earned in time to begin the first personnel review process, no later than February 1, 2025. Academic year salaries are competitive and commensurate with experience, with excellent fringe benefits and insurance programs. The Psychology Department supports and values diversity in its faculty, staff, and students. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply, and ideal candidates will share the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion as it relates to teaching, research, and service.
