Description

A.T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking a non-exempt Student Accounts Coordinator for the Kirksville, MO campus. This position will assist with processing student refunds, bills, and collections for ATSU, and assist all students with student account questions. Additionally, this applicant will assist with monthly general ledger reconciliations.

Major Job Duties
  • Ensure accuracy and timely billing of student receivable accounts.
  • Assist students with account-related questions.
  • Assist with processing student refunds.
  • Perform Title IV credit balance reviews.
  • Ensure all Title IV refunds are processed timely and according to federal rules and regulations.
  • Assist with payment processing, account holds, contractual payment agreements, outside scholarships, and third-party billing.
  • Ensure proper classification, recording, and accuracy of payments in accordance with updated IRS regulations related to Form 1098-T reporting.
  • Assist with collections on past due balances.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the Finance Office by performing all other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with all internal and external regulatory policies and procedures including a working knowledge of federal, state, and institutional policies governing the various student aid programs, such as the programs provided by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965.

Education/Experience
  • Associate's degree or comparable work experience required.
  • Customer service oriented; collaborative.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, management, computer technology or related field.
  • Dynamics GP and Anthology Student software.
  • Previous experience in financial services/financial aid in higher education setting or 3-5 years experience in customer receivables, billing, and collection.
  • Experience with federal, state and institutional student aid programs.
  • An understanding of the IRS 1098-T preparation process.
