Scope of Job:
To perform a variety of duties for engineering projects for the Texas Manufacturing
Assistance Center. Projects may include, but are not limited to providing hands-on training and technical assistance to help customers become more profitable via improvements in quality, productivity, and general business operations. Responsible for providing technical assistance to small and medium-sized manufacturers and supervising entry-level specialists and interns.

Description of Duties:
• Coordinates the planning and execution of engineering projects for Center's clients.

• Develops the cost estimates, negotiates contracts and resources allocation for the project assigned.

• Develops, coordinates and conducts complex training sessions and materials.

• Provides technical assistance and supports to clients by resolving issues and problems through new techniques, concepts, or technology and initiating or coordinating research to determine innovative solutions.

• Responsible for all sales activities to promote awareness of the Center's services through a variety of methods including telemarketing, presentations, and other special events across the community.

• Develops and coordinates surveys, to provide status and required data as required.

• Prepares technical and financial reports of recommendations, projected outcomes and associated costs; maintains documentation of services provided to customers to ensure compliance with legal, patent, and confidentiality agreements.

• Develops and maintains customer relations and acts a liaison between the customers and other university entities.

• Represents the center in several internal and external events, committees, and/or Associations.

• Responsible for product development and participation in TMAC Centers of Excellence.

• Performs related duties as required.

Supervision Received:
General direction from the assigned supervisor.

Supervision Given:
Direct supervision of all assigned staff.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in a related field.

Preferred Education:
N/A

Licenses/Certifications:
Preferred: Six SIGMA, Lean Manufacturing, Supply Chain or ISO/TS Certification

Required Experience:
Five (5) years experience in directly job-related experience including training and project management of Six SIGMA, Lean Manufacturing, and Supply Chain and ISO/TS

Preferred Experience:
N/A

Equipment:
Use of standard office equipment.

Working Conditions:
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required.

Other:
Knowledge of university and community resources available to implement plans. Ability to work with a variety of people, such as all University constituents: students, faculty, staff, parents, donors, legislatures, etc. Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
