Job Summary
The School of Nursing at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applicants to apply for a part-time, non-tenure-track, adjunct faculty position in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program. This appointment is made on a semester-by-semester, as-needed basis. Salary is commensurate with education, background, and experience.
Essential Functions
Duties vary depending on the program and need and include, but are not limited to:
- Primary teaching in on-line courses for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program
- Assisting other classroom faculty as needed.
- Mentoring students.
- Participation in program meetings as required.
Required Qualifications
- Terminal degree in nursing (DNP or PhD).
- Minimum of one (1) - two (2) years of clinical experience as a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Eligible for Texas licensure.

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
