Assistant Professor-Applied Exercise Science-Erie

Position Summary:
This position is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track position in the Applied Exercise Science (AES) program to begin in January of 2025 at the Erie, PA campus. The AES department is seeking a motivated individual to teach, mentor, and advise students in the ever-growing exercise science field. Gannon University is committed to excellence in student-centered learning with an emphasis on student learning outcomes. The faculty work collaboratively with colleagues; deliver instruction; advise students; engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship, as required by their appointment and/or discipline; and engage in University, professional, and community service activities. Successful candidates must be able to support and promote the University's inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.

Required Qualifications:
Education: A Ph.D. or ABD in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field is required Certifications: Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) specifically the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) is required. Experience: Evidence of effective college level instruction required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: Experience with injury prevention and orthopedic assessment, research methods, and clinical population is preferred. Evidence of successful university advisement preferred. Evidence of competence in instruction and/or research in a traditional exercise science laboratory facility through clinical experience or published research preferred. Evidence of scholarly activity strongly encouraged. Familiarity with the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Education (CASCE) accrediting body preferred.
