Associate Professor - Tenure or Clinician Educator - Retina Expertise

Deadline: Oct 18, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time
The Department of Ophthalmology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise in the specific area of retina is required. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing medical and surgical retina care for patients at Scheie and one of Scheie's satellite offices.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include collaborative or independent research within the specific area of retina. While both tenure and clinician-educator faculty conduct methodological and collaborative research, tenure track faculty focus primarily on independent, investigator-driven research, while clinician educator-track focus primarily on collaboration.
Applicants in mid-career with a demonstrated record of scholarship are encouraged to apply.
We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense. The University of Pennsylvania is an EOE. Minorities/women/individuals with disabilities/protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
