Job Description
Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Grants and Projects Analyst 2. The Grants and Projects Analyst 2 will manage grant awards from cradle to grave in a manner governed by applicable laws and regulations. Under general supervision, the Grants and Projects Analyst 2 assists in the financial oversight and management of over 50 awards with a federal grant revenue amount of over $29M. The position assists with the development of grant proposals to federal, state, and other agencies. The position also develops, implements, and monitors grant compliance training workshops for grant recipients that provides guidance to principal investigators on proper grants management, including compliance with internal and external policies and regulations. This position interprets and compiles large quantities of complex financial data for use in required project reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:
Post Award Duties
- Post award management for all of the institution's grants, including federal, state, and local government sponsored programs and grants from private/nonprofit agencies.
- Provide assistance to the University and principal investigators (PIs) in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of grant programs, including researching, maintaining, and reviewing various information (to include, but not limited to, financial data).
- Facilitate and monitor the timely and accurate submission of all monthly, quarterly, and final financial reports, including required cost sharing.
- Facilitate monthly drawdown of funds for all awards by preparing invoices, compiling backup documentation, and securing all required signatures; submit drawdown/reimbursement requests for all non-federal sponsors, but may assist with drawdowns from federal sponsors as needed.
- Resolve unidentified payments/revenue from a sponsor in a timely manner.
- Maintenance and monitoring of Award Tasks to track compliance of all required reports and deliverables for each grant award.
- Assist with grant budget modifications requests, analyzing budgeted ledger accounts and expenditures to assist PIs with proper re-budgeting, in accordance with approved scope of work and proper/effective use of funds.
- Maintains grant databases as part of Grants Award Services reconciliation for all awards.
Training
- Create and provide training workshops for Principal Investigators, Project Directors, Grant Managers, administrative assistants, and other personnel to provide guidance regarding compliance with grant requirements.
- Provide one-on-one Workday "on demand" training to campus personnel upon request.
- Provides technical support to PIs regarding grant program operations, management, and interpretation of grant regulations. The incumbent research, develops, recommends, and implements long-term training programs/initiatives to improve grant operations.
Pre-Award
- Support the preparation of grant funding applications to secure federal, state, and other sponsored funding sources for the institution.
- Review grant solicitation guidelines for eligibility requirements, interpret the content of complex grant solicitation guidelines and regulations and compile required financial and statistical data needed for the development of grant applications.
- Assist staff/faculty with the development of complex multi-year budgets and assessing compliance of budgeted items to cost principles and institutional budgeting policies/procedures.
Supervision
- Supervision of the Grants Award Services student worker, who provides clerical support to the department.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and two years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the areas as described above; OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in finance, accounting, budgets, grants, and/or contracts administration.
- Knowledge of 2 CFR 200 and generally accepted accounting principles.
Salary & Benefits
Budgeted salary for this position is $64,414.80. Nevada State University offers excellent benefits, including a generous vacation & sick benefits, 12 paid holidays, educational benefits, a choice between three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, and an excellent pension retirement plan through the Public Employees' Retirement System of Nevada. The plan requires employees to withhold 17.5% of the budgeted salary toward retirement with an equal employer match of 17.5%. No relocation assistance is provided for this position.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
