PURPOSE
Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, in collaboration with the Vice President of Student Engagement and Success & Intercollegiate Athletics, the Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts is responsible for managing relationships and securing support from mid to major giving donors. This individual will manage a personal portfolio of giving prospects and will work closely with the coaches and staff, both within the division and around the University, to promote the acquisition of gifts. This position will work closely with the Islander Athletics and Institutional Advancement teams to ensure coordination among individual giving programs and name, image, and likeness (NIL) initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Development - 40%
- In collaboration with the VPIA and VPAD, lead long-range
strategic development planning efforts for major giving in
Athletics.
- Develop a workplan for Athletics' major giving efforts for each
fiscal year.
- Develop metrics and assess progress towards goal for the major
giving development plan objectives in coordination with the EAVP of
Development.
- Manage a personal portfolio of mid-range to major gift donors
and donor prospects.
- Responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and
stewardship of all mid to major giving donors and donor prospects
of Athletics.
- Create and present solicitation proposals for consideration
according to the donor's interests, propensity to give, and giving
capacity.
- Record and document in a timely and accurate manner contracts,
with donors and prospective donors.
- Create and present solicitation proposals for consideration

- Work with Assistant Director of Donor Engagement to develop an
appropriate and effective plan for donor recognition.
- Perform all other duties assigned
Engagement - 35%
- Attend and assist at designated Athletics and Institutional
Advancement events.
- Serve as a liaison between Athletics and Institutional
Advancement.
- Participate in key community organizations and attend key
community events as determined by university priorities and
departmental goals.
Name, Image & Likeness (NIL)- 15%
- Work closely with the VPAD and NIL team in the development of
the NIL workplan for each fiscal year.
- Actively identify opportunities for TAMU-CC
student-athletes.
- Serve as NIL contact for external stakeholders.
- Comply with all applicable legislative, NCAA, SLC, and TAMU-CC
rules, regulations and policies.
Administrative-10%
- Record and document in a timely and accurate manner contacts
with donors and prospective donors.
- Perform all other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATONS
- Bachelor's degree.
- Four (4) years of experience in fundraising.
- Additional education may be used to substitute for the
experience requirement:
- Master's degree and two (2) years of experience in
fundraising.
- Master's degree and two (2) years of experience in
fundraising.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, analytical, and
organizational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and manage details within the
broader vision of the University.
- Ability to maintain clear, accurate records and timely
reports.
- Ability to travel on a regular basis to include some night and
weekend hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Four to Six (4-6) years' experience in alumni relations,
development, individual major gift fundraising, or event
management.
- Experience working in higher education.
SALARY: $65,000 - $72,000/annually, approximately.
- $5,416.67 - $6,000/monthly.
