The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Area of Art and Art History invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Photography at the assistant professor level, beginning in August 2025. We are seeking candidates with an MFA in Studio Art who are experienced in teaching all levels of photography. The successful candidate will have an active professional creative practice, as well as a strong knowledge of the history of photography and contemporary art.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach photographic practices that engage with contemporary theory and visual culture. Preference will be given to those with experience in a range of traditional photographic processes and alternative photographic methods. Strong communication skills are essential.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are passionate about teaching, as this is the primary focus of the position. Ongoing scholarly activity and university service are also expected, commensurate with the teaching load. The teaching load is four courses per semester, with no more than three course preparations. Each studio class meets for 225 minutes (3.75 hours) per week.
